Although we call our Android devices “phones,” they are definitely much more than that. We use them almost like we use our desktop or laptop computers. We download a ton of files on them, don’t we?
We download PDFs, music, CVs, assignments, the list is endless. However, when was the last time you deleted the old files that you don’t need anymore?
If it has been a while (or you’re doing it for the first time), head over to “Files” and see what you’ve got going on in there. You may find plenty of old files just sitting there taking up storage. Clean them up right away!
Almost all apps cache data on your android device’s internal memory. Over time, this can really build up and take considerable space. It’s not uncommon for cache data to exceed 1GB – that’s a lot of space.
You could clean out the entire cache data by navigating to your phone's Internal Storage settings, or you could clean the cache for each app separately.
We are all guilty of hoarding apps and games that we never use. Especially the games can take up quite a lot of storage on your Android device.
If you do see a bunch of apps that you don’t ever use, don’t be reluctant to let them go. You can always download them when you need them. For now, let’s put your storage to some better use.
Go to Settings > Applications. Select the app(s) you want to remove and start uninstalling.
