Don't get stuck in major and minor tonalities

We culturally agree that major tones are always “happy” while minor tones are “sad.” But if this was the case, then they would evoke different emotional responses when you hear them. Setting a box on tonalities just oversimplifies the idea and is rather widely flexible in practice. So, set your own tonality and think of it as composing your own scales that you have created for a specific purpose.

Think about the angle

You can also choose to keep healthier snacks at home, such as granola bars or banana chips. Tell yourself that snacks are for the situations when you are very hungry not for eating all the time and if you eat them, you won’t get more for the rest of the week. 

Avoid touching the face

On average, humans touch their face 3-5 times every minute. Your hands have been God knows where, and when you touch your eyes or nose with it, you’re potentially giving the germs a free pass into your body.

To avoid this, avoid touch your face often. Occasional fidgeting is fine, but don’t touch your face out of compulsion. Also, wash your hands frequently so when you do touch your face, your hands are clean.

Tap into another well-known person’s credibility by quoting a wise person. Make sure, however, that the quote is relevant for the audience.

If you’re speaking at a charity event, for example, start by using Gandhi’s quote, “Mahatma Gandhi once said, ‘Be the change you want to see in the world.’ We must ourselves take the responsibility of making the world a better place rather than relying on someone else to take action.”
