Eat soluble fiber

Soluble fibers increase the digestion rate and absorb large quantities of water. It slows down the passing of food through the digestive tract. This helps to keep your stomach full for a very long time. Soluble fiber is known to decrease the number of calories your body absorbs from food.

There will be less fat accumulated around your body organs. Therefore, it will help to decrease your waist circumference. For each 10-gram increase of soluble fiber in your body, you decrease 3.7% body fat over a period of 5 years.

Identify all the triggers

Many people diagnosed with bulimia experience triggers such as binging, purging, vomiting, and exercising extensively. Anything can be triggering for a patient- it can a specific time of the day or a place. Emotions such as sadness, anxiety, stress, and depression can also lead to you repeating the cycle.

To stop the binge-purge cycle, you need to identify and learn all about the triggers. Address all the places that trigger a behaviour like this. After you have identified all the triggers, make a strategy to avoid them.

Thanks again

Some people say 'Thank You' a lot. Are you one of them? If you have already said 'thanks' once and want to say it again, go ahead. Write Thank you again and sign off with your name. Just be careful not to step on your closing sentence, if that also pertains to gratitude. You don't want to botch the finale with an unwieldy "thanks again again", right?

Don’t let someone else, or even yourself, dictate how you feel

If somebody is advising you to “get over it” or “move on”, don’t pay any heed. Don’t run away from your feelings based on someone else’s words. Feel whatever you are feeling without judging yourself. It is okay to be angry or cry your eyes out. On the contrary, it is okay to have a chuckle if it feels natural. Let your feelings flow without any regulation.

Speak to a grief counselor

If your grief doesn’t seem to go away or if you develop symptoms that resemble clinical depression, speak to a mental health professional or a grief counselor right away.

If you are not sure about when you should go forward with this, here is when:

· If you wish you had died with the person you lost.

· If you feel that life is not worth living anymore.

· If you keep blaming yourself for the loss of the person, or for the failure of preventing it.

· If you are finding it difficult to place trust in others since your loss.

· If you feel disconnected from your friends and family for more than a few weeks.

· If you find yourself unable to carry out your daily activities normally.
