Exfoliating your skin can have many benefits including making the skin appear younger, brighter and smoother. One way to exfoliate your skin is to make a home made coffee scrub. Grab ground coffee from your kitchen and mix it in a bowl with coconut oil until it makes a paste.
When you are in the shower, exfoliate your skin using the scrub for 5 minutes. The coffee grounds will help plump the skin to remove all the dead skin cell and the coconut oil will help hydrate the skin to leave it moisturized.
Body scrubs are great for exfoliating. Many exfoliating scrubs come with salicylic acid which is an active ingredient for peeling off the outermost layer of skin gently. Take pea-sized scrub in your hand and gently rub it over the area you want to exfoliate.
A small amount of face wash on your baby sponge can do wonders to the skin. A baby sponge can help deep clean the skin and exfoliate it. To soften the baby sponge, hold it under a running hot water tap.
When it feels soft, put a little amount of your regular face wash on it, and start cleansing. The warm water in the sponge should help open up the pores of your skin and the rough skin of the baby sponge should be peeling away the dead skin and cleaning the pores. Wash your face when done and pat the skin dry with a towel. Apply your regular toner and then a moisturizer to soothe skin.
While scrubs can be a great solution for some people, they may be a bit too harsh for those of us with sensitive skin. A great alternative to a physical exfoliator is shower gloves. EcoTools makes a great inexpensive pair that you can get at Ulta, Target, or your local drugstore. They are made from recycled materials. They gently exfoliate your skin in the shower and you can control the amount of pressure you use while exfoliating.
Electric foaming cleaner brushes have a set of rotating brushes that use a facial cleanser to clean your skin. They are harsh on the skin and can also exfoliate the skin. Use a foaming cleanser brush on the skin to exfoliate and then wash the skin with water. Apply a moisturizer to avoid dryness and irritation.
