While natural light can be a great addition to any space, it can also be a huge pain when trying to darken a room. One of the easiest ways to fix this problem is by investing in a pair of curtains for your windows. You can buy some at most home supply stores. Many places offer a variety of patterns, colors and lengths for every window size. If you’re handy with a needle and thread (or own a sewing machine), you can make your own with a few yards of your favorite fabric.
If you are getting your bedroom ready, it is best to get either thick curtains or dark curtains. Thick curtains will not only block out the light but will also keep the room warm in winters because the space near a window can be freezing. Dark grey curtains, dark blue, and dark purple curtains can look really good in a room when mixed and matched with other colors, especially if everything else in the room is light-colored.
Shutters are inexpensive and very easy to install. You can install them in the baby room easily on your own. Shutters can partially block out the light so if the curtains in the room are also light-colored you might also have to buy Bristol boards or Baby room blackout liners that go under the curtains.
