Clean the Chair
Before you even think about the painting procedure, you need to clean the entire chair thoroughly. Applying a coat of paint on a chair that has residue of dust is never a good idea, especially if you're purchasing a second-hand product. Take a brush with soft bristles and wipe the entire chair down. You can also put the cherry on top with a vacuum paired with a brush attachment to get rid of any pesky dust particles in out-of-reach places.
