Take Your Competitors Seriously

Chalk out the names of all your competitors. Your competitors are the businesses that might steal your customers or vice versa. Do a SWOT analysis of each competitor and find out everything they are doing?

What is their business turn-over, what prices do they offer and how many customers do they have? What are their weaknesses and what are their strengths? You need to know everything.

If you sell bicycles in a town and you have only one competitor near you. If he starts selling his products at a 30% discount for a month, it can disturb your entire month’s sale. If a competitor’s business decisions can affect your business, you need a plan to counter-attack.

Declutter Your Workspace

You cannot be productive in a workspace that still has scattered crumbs from the last meal and the plates are lying around. Declutter the workspace and get rid of the stuff you do not need. Before you begin to work, get rid of anything that might stop you from concentrating.

The physical environment in which we work affects our productivity. You may not be able to change your cabin or room at work, but you are surely able to clean and arrange the desk you are working on. Always take a few minutes to clean up space.

Basic Puff Pastry

Puff pastry is an incredibly versatile thing. It can be used to make danishes, pie crusts, beef wellingtons, and anything else that can benefit from a flaky, buttery crust.

For a basic puff pastry, all you will need is flour, water, and salt. The rest is technique.

First, mix 1 cup of flour with a pinch of salt. Then, cube 10 tablespoons of cold butter and, using a pastry blender, two knives, or your fingers, cut the butter into the dough. This means to break the butter into smaller pieces until they're the size of peas.

Make a well in the center of your mixture and add in 1/3 of a cup of cold water. Mix the water into the flour/butter mixture. The dough will seem dry and crumbly, but it should hold its shape when squeezed. There should be visible chunks of butter. These will melt in the oven and create flaky layers.

Lightly flour a cutting board and place your dough on top. Pat the dough into a rough square shape. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until it's approximately 10" long, but no need to be too precise.

Fold the bottom third over the dough into the middle, then fold the top third on top of that (like a letter). Roll until 10" long again. Turn the dough 90 degrees, and repeat the process, folding and rolling, at least three more times. Use additional flour when needed if the dough starts to stick.

When done, wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate or freeze overnight.

Then your puff pastry is done! Let thaw slightly before using, just enough so that it doesn't shatter. Use for pies, pastries, or anything you like.

Erase with a blade

You can use friction to your advantage for erasing pen ink from a paper. Simple blades can help you get rid of some ink, but it’s good only for erasing a few letters rather than a full page.

To erase using a blade, hold it with the sharp edge placed on the paper, and begin to rub gently. It’s important not to go full throttle with the blade, though, since that might take a few layers out or rip through the paper.

Turn off the TV

An average person watches around four hours of TV every day. Watching TV stands in the way of life, relationships, and more. It is unimaginative and your brain takes a passive seat. So, turn off your TV and spend more time doing something that makes your brain work.

Short-acting hormonal contraception

Hormonal birth control includes adjusting your body’s natural progestin and/or estrogen levels to decrease the chances of pregnancy. You can use birth control pills you take every day, a patch that you replace every week, a shot your doctor gives you every three months or a vaginal ring you can change every month. All of these methods require a doctor’s prescription.

Raw Garlic

Scientific researches have shown that garlic can help lower cholesterol levels. On average, a person who eats a clove of garlic every day has a 10% less chance of cholesterol coronary heart disease because of lowered levels of cholesterol.

Eating raw garlic can also help reduce inflammation in the body, fight cold, and regulate blood pressure.

The 16/8 method

The method allows an 8-10 hour “eating window” and involves fasting for about 14-16 hours a day. The only difficult thing about intermittent fasting is not eating, because the methods are pretty straightforward. With the 16/8 method, you’ll need to fast post dinner for 16 hours. Which means you’ll need to skip breakfast the next morning.

Women are recommended to fast for a slightly shorter duration of 14-15 hours since they seem to be doing better that way. If you love yourself a good breakfast, this method could take some time to get used to. However, you can still have noncaloric beverages like water and coffee during your fast if that helps control your hunger pangs.
