Watch a Movie
Watching a romantic movie and drinking coffee are the best ways to spend a rainy day. Ask your friends to join you for a movie marathon and watch rom-coms. If you want to spend some time alone, watch a rom-com and sip warm coffee or eat popcorn while lying in bed.
Unplug for a day
The best thing about rainy days is that there's no obligation to other people. Plans get cancelled and responsibilities get washed away with the rain. Now that cell phones are constantly connecting us, though, those responsibilities have become a little harder to escape.
If you can, a great way to spend a rainy day is to put your phone on silent, put on some music, and do something that doesn't involve tech. Brew some tea and grab your thickest blanket and go to town on a puzzle. Or make a cup of hot chocolate, slip on your pajamas, and dust off a board game.
Take a Nap
A rainy day can make you cranky if you had outdoor plans and they were canceled. To relax and have a good day at home, try to fall asleep to the sound of rain. The noise of a light shower is very soothing, lie in your bed, and relax while listening to the rhythm. If you can’t fall asleep, daydream, or watch a movie. Have a lazy day in bed and enjoy doing something you had to do at home.
Read a Book
For people who love to indulge themselves in reading, a rainy day is the perfect opportunity to spend a day at home and read a book. Find a nice comfortable spot to sit. If it’s cold outside, light up the fireplace and draw the blinds. Turn on a lamp and read in a cozy atmosphere.
If it’s summertime, open the window or keep it closed and move the curtains. Watch the rain pouring on the ground and read. The voice of falling water can be very soothing if the rain is not accompanied by thunder.
Invite a Friend
Often, we find ourselves longing to meet our friends and family because of our hectic schedules. When you feel like you could benefit from the company of a friend, ask them to come over or go to their place. Decide if you want to watch a movie while lying in bed with them if they are close and super casual or you would like to make some fancy lunch or dinner to spend the day.
