Soups are great for beating the cold in winters. A little bit of turmeric in a bowl of soup can make the soup warmer and nutritious. Turmeric is one of the best anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory food, which makes it the perfect addition to your bowl of soup. When the soup is cooking/ boiling, add a teaspoon of turmeric per 2 cups of soup and let it cook with the soup.
Scrambled eggs can go with anything. When making scrambled eggs add the turmeric when it’s cooking if you like your scrambled eggs to be a bit dry. If you like to eat soggy scrambled eggs you can also sprinkle the turmeric when it has been transferred to a plate.
Be careful of how much turmeric you add to the eggs. If you have never consumed turmeric before, ideally you should go for just a pinch of turmeric. If you like it, you can sprinkle some more.
This recipe is my favorite for days when I’m sick, tired, or have pain in the body. Boil a cup of milk and add half a teaspoon of turmeric to it. Let it boil for a minute while stirring and then remove from heat. Pour it into a glass and mix in a tablespoon of honey. Drink when it's warm. It helps decrease muscle cramping and is very comforting.
Put some turmeric in boiling water when making rice. The aroma and light-yellow color of turmeric give the rice the authentic and fancy pilaf taste. If you want to make an effort, when you are boiling the water, add bay leaves and star anise for fancy Indian style boiled rice.
French fries taste amazing with turmeric. The strong taste of turmeric when eaten with fries and sauce or ketchup creates the perfect balance of spices. If you are someone who is not fond of turmeric then try eating it with French fries, because french fries can taste good with anything. When the fries come out of the fryer, sprinkle a teaspoon of turmeric and a dash of salt on the fries. Toss them and enjoy!
