Forcing a candid can make your expressions look fake sometimes especially when you are trying to smile. To get the perfect candid photo, do something just like you normally would and laugh at a joke. Let the photographer take random pictures from different angles. Talk, look around and just be yourself. Look at the pictures and you will surely love some of the clicks.
Not all of us have perfectly symmetrical faces. This is why we look considerably better from one angle. My pictures from the left side of the face look horrible when I’m smiling because of a single crooked tooth that shows up whenever I smile with my mouth wide open.
Take pictures posing with your good side to look better.
Displaying emotions of happiness and joy can easily make you look stunning but laughing in every photo is not a good idea. A relaxed face and natural emotions can make you look stunning as well. Find what works for you. Try refreshing your make-up, pulling your hair to the side, or adjusting the brightness. Let the natural emotions of shyness, joy, surprise, and calmness out to make your photographs natural by being you.
Before you take full-body pictures, portraits or selfies, make sure your turn your face to a light source. Good lighting changes the entire picture and gives you a flattering glow on the face. On the other hand, standing at the back of the light source creates unflattering and dark shadows on your face.
For instance, if you are taking a selfie indoors, face the window that’s opening outside. You might even stand in the middle of the room but do not stand with your back facing the light source or the window. Here is a complete guide to posing better for pictures.
I’m often guilty of having the wrong posture in normal life and this habit also ruins my photos sometimes. To always look great at photos, it is necessary to fix your posture and find the right pose. I like to keep my head up to make the jawline look more toned. Also, turn to my left or right a bit to make the arms appear thinner. Keep your back straight when sitting or standing to appear confident and hide that bulging tummy. When sitting cross your legs or move them to one side to look gorgeous and refined.
When taking a full body picture, it is essential to know your angles, otherwise, the pictures will come out bad even with good lighting. If you do not know your angles, try mine:
Turn at a 45 degrees angle towards the camera. Posing with a straight posture emphasizes your shoulders’ width, waist, and chest. This way, you would look fat in the pictures. If you prefer your curves to look narrow, turn away from the camera slightly. Moreover, turn from the good side, if you have one. Make sure you position yourself in a way that your good side shows more in the picture.
To be more photogenic, you should practice with poses. In your free time, put on some nice clothes and set up the camera if you have a tripod or ask someone for assistance. Try to pose like a model, the way you normally pose and experiment. Take pictures when sitting down, standing up, looking back, and lying down. Compare how each photo differs from the others. Adopt the poses that make you look flawless and stick to them when taking pictures.
Do a quick scan of the area and ensure to remove anything that diverts the focus from you. If the background is messy, take a different shot so the people can’t see what is in the background. If you can, pick another location or the messy background will ruin your Instagram pictures!
Regardless of how beautiful, sexy or cute you look, if there’s a distracting thing in the background of your photo, everybody is going to make fun of that.
